Abdulkarim Bakr Medical Center for Dialysis (AKBMC)
Abdulkarim Bakr Medical Center (AKBMC) for treating indigent patients with kidney failure is one of the service programs managed by Al-Bir Association in Jeddah Governorate Abdulkarim Bakr Kidney Dialysis Center is located on Ahmad Al-Attas Street in Al-Zahraa district in Jeddah.. Sheikh Abdul Karim Bakr Center – may God have mercy on him – is a non-profit center for treating patients with kidney failure and guarantees all its medical and non-medical equipment, including serving the community through needy patients with kidney failure and contributing to alleviating the suffering of these patients. This outstanding center was inaugurated on the fourth of the blessed month of Ramadan 1428 AH which corresponds to the sixteenth of September 2007 AD.
The building consists of three floors:
1- The basement:
Warehouses, medical supplies and medical supplies center next to the water purification treatment unit.
2- The ground floor :
It is dedicated to both blood and protein dialysis, and it employs an excellent group of consultant doctors and nephrologists, along with an experienced and highly qualified nursing staff in the field of dialysis.
- The center is equipped with the latest dialysis machines.
- The center has 21 dialysis machines with a computer network that is considered one of the most advanced marine navigation systems.
- Each dialysis unit has a TV and a network to operate the laptop, which distinguishes the dialysis units in the center from their counterparts in other centers.
- The center has an ambulance unit equipped to transfer critical and emergency cases to the nearest hospital when needed.

5- The treatment program
1) The center works in two shifts, morning and evening.
2) The number of patients is 84 patients.
3) Gravity counts 13,104 hemodialysis sessions.
6- Management of the center:
The center is supervised by a board of trustees, which is responsible for the general services of the center, the public libraries of the center, the fees of the general services, the internal system, the appointment of the senior staff, the audit of the operating budget and elements and other matters of the general policy of the center.
7- Financial Resources:
The center operates on non-profit economic bases, but its revenues cover operating expenses in a way that maintains a high level of service. The following tributaries are its most important resources:
1) Donations from benefactors to support one or more patients with renal failure.
2) Fees paid by financially strong beneficiaries of the Center’s services.
3) What the operation of the center brings in.
4) Income from the rental of rooms of the center.
